Wedding Elopement Styled Shoot | Providence Canyon State Park, Georgia. I had the opportunity to be part of a wedding elopement-styled shoot at the Little Grand Canyon, GA. I worked on getting photos and videos for this shoot. This was a chance to experiment and expand my wedding work.
This wedding elopement-styled shoot was totally worth the investment! There are so many practical reasons to be part of styled shoots. For one, I have not shot a wedding since November and we are about to get into the Spring wedding season. This helped break off a little rust. Another big reason to do styled shoots is the collaborative environment. Posing is something I struggle with at times. Being around other photographers, we bounce off each other and gain ideas from one another. Also, when there are experienced models or coordinators, they chip in and help a bit with posing ideas. Glamor and Grind styled shoots also provide a hype person to boost morale and confidence. If you invested in some new gear, this is a great time to experiment.
Recently, I purchased a Sony A7S3 camera and there was a new firmware update giving the camera a new picture profile. The S-Cinetone picture profile is lovely and I was excited to see the results of the colors from this new camera! Normally when I do both photos and videos at a wedding, I have one camera on me and simply toggle between the settings, but this time around I was dual-wielding cameras using my A7R3 for photos and the A7S3 for video. It wasn’t too hard to use the two cameras and I think was able to grab some lovely images.
I also REALLY want to do more elopement weddings! It's my goal to use this content to launch another extension of branding for Evergreen Creative Weddings. More info about this effort coming soon!
