Evergreen Creative Company | A Rebrand | A New Chapter

Evergreen Creative Company. Where do I start? There’s so many thoughts running through my mind. I’ll do my best to keep this brief. I mainly want to go over the meaning behind the name and a little history of the company.

Once I knew the company was going to rebrand I started thinking of names. One of the hardest parts of branding is matching the name across all platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram. To take a step further, to own a name that isn’t taken is difficult to nail down. I like to be original as much as possible as well.

After quite some time of researching, Evergreen Creative was the basis that I wanted the name to come from, but those two words were taken quite a bit. Then “Company” hit me and everything started to come together. I was able to buy the domain, claim the social media accounts, and expressed my vision of logo with a graphic designer.

The meaning of the logo and name is actually quite complex, but here we go.

Logo Meaning

Evergreen - I want to create content that lasts. Evergreens are around all year. Long lasting growth.

The Dragonfly - My wife’s family lost an aunt a long time ago and she loved dragonflies. Dragonflies have been a symbol in the family for a while.

In almost every part of the world, the Dragonfly symbolizes change, transformation, adaptability, and self-realization….The Dragonfly has been a symbol of happiness, new beginnings and change for many centuries. The Dragonfly means hope, change, and love. - dragonflytransitions.com

Steampunk Design in the Dragonfly - In design, steampunk represents timeless. Something that can be used from the past and towards the future.

The Circle with Dragonfly - Peter McKinnon is a creator I admire. He has a partnership with a coffee company with a similar design as my logo. It’s logo has a wire-frame owl vs a dragonfly. This is where I had inspiration for my logo. While not completely original, it is a reminder to me that as much as I draw inspiration from others, I want to be an inspiration to others.

Joshua Champion did a fantastic job designing the logo. He nailed it. It’s exactly what I envisioned.

Why Rebrand?

When I first started doing professional work the name was Bane Creative. It worked OKAY, but ended being quite confusing to explain. So I simply used my name as my business name up until now.

Fortunately business is doing well, there’s a lot of growth, and it was time to set the company up for more growth. Departing from using my name as the business name allows growth for team members, offer more services, etc.

Apart from this company, I aspire to have online influence and presence. I’ve got a YouTube channel and Instagam account that is dedicated to vlogging, travel films, photography, and videography. And I use my name Joshua Bane as that brand. See how things need to be separated?

Splitting my personal brand with my business brand is simply the best move to allow growth for two separate purposes.

My Vision

It’s always been about people. It’s just as important to me to help people, bring out the best in others, and do what I can to communicate what people care about as it is to make money. I’m not gonna lie and say money isn’t important to me. It is very much so. I want to be able to take care of my family well and to set my kids up for success. I also want the freedom to travel and see the world. Money also allows to be able to help others where needed.

Whether it’s to employ or invest my money in others or to expand services, I want to be able to provide a space for other creators to practice their talents.

I look to the future to have a studio for clients to come to, for creators to explore, and of course business operations.

There’s a lot of potential with Evergreen Creative Company and I can’t wait to see where we go.

Cheers.

Founder,

Joshua Bane
